Swiss Gold Bars & Bullion

Swiss gold bars are very popular among gold investors, and especially so because of the rising prices of this metal in the international markets. There are two kinds of gold bars that you can buy, those that are cast, and those that are minted. Cast bars are created by a method of pouring liquid gold into a mold which provides the finished form, and these bars are known as ingots. This process is traditionally used for all large bars that are traded, and usually weigh close to 400 ounces each. The U.S. Bullion Depository, also known as Fort Knox, is an example of the use of ingot bars to store gold which is part of the U.S. reserves.

Minted gold bars are created by cutting gold blanks out of flat sheets of solid gold. Their thickness mirrors that similar to a coin, and these are becoming more widely used in the investing market and consumer trading while ingot bars are favored by institutions and governments. There is another new form of gold that is similar to the larger ingots. It is known as Chip Gold, which is a 1-20 gram ingot that is sealed and certified in a package that is about credit card sized. Swiss gold bars come in the Credit Suisse one ounce bar and the “gold dream” PAMP bar.

The first type is the most common, because it is easy to store, and can be converted into cash at any place around the world. Each bar is 24 karat purity and the weight is then stamped on the bar. The bars are sealed for security and safety, and are backed by the Credit Suisse Bank of Switzerland. The Gold Dream Suisse trademark is accredited by the Swiss Federal Bureau and is deemed acceptable by traders and dealers around the world. These bars, manufactured since 1977 by the Produits Artistiques de Metaux Precieux, or PAMP, are fully supported by the Swiss National Bank and the London Bullion Market Association.

Swiss gold bars are all numbered, registered and sealed accordingly, guaranteeing the fineness of 99.99% pure gold and the weight as well. The bars aren’t high in premium and are affordable to a majority of investors and collectors. They are also easy to store and transport, and can be sold just as easily, making them very popular to anyone looking for a simple, yet sound investment.

Buying Swiss gold bars can be a very sound investment in your future, as gold prices are doing well, and the price of gold will continue to rise over the years to come.
