$5 Half Eagle Gold Coins - Indian Head Half Eagle Gold

The $5 half eagle gold coin was the first gold coin created in the United States and was minted for more than 130 years from 1795 to 1929. Three different designs were produced in that time period that included the classic Liberty design, the Liberty Head design and the sunken Indian Head design. Within the original Liberty design are 4 sub designs the include the Turban Head, the Draped Bust and the Capped Bust as well as the classic design.

The Liberty Head Coronet design also included 2 sub designs, one with a motto and one without.
